If you’ve been playingXDefiantsince its May 21 release date, then there’s a decent chance you’ve encountered an unkillable enemy who looks like they aren’t even moving. While this may look like a hack, it’s actually a glitch —one the devs are aware of.
This glitch has been noted on numerous occasions throughout the first week of release, with players posting videos ofXDefiantcharacters floating across the ground, arms and legs welded to their sides, eating bullets, and killing enemies.

There are other variations of this glitch too, as formerCall of Dutypro player Scump discovered when he saw a player running around as normal but was unable to deal any damage to them.

These definitely look like cheats we’ve seen inWarzoneandCoDmultiplayer in the past, but surprisingly,XDefiantdeveloper and formerCall of DutyWorld Champion Patrick “ACHES” Priceconfirmedthat these are actually bugs affecting the game.
The good news is that clearly the developer is aware of these problems, which should hopefully mean that Ubisoft will drop a fix soon. While we won’t explain the process here, the glitch is fairly easy to replicate, which is a big concern and could drive players away if it isn’t fixed quickly enough.

At least the positive note is that the BattlEye anti-cheat system appears to be working, with hacking not a huge issue so far. WithEngineOwning now paying $14m in damages to Activision, let’s hope that cheat providers have been scared away by the possible ramifications.
