‘Holographic art installation’ on display at the Mega Man Boss Battle art show
Most of the pieces on display at theMega Man Boss Tributeart show running all month at San Francisco’sGauntlet Galleryare of the2D drawn / painted variety. But theXseries incarnation of the good Dr. Thomas Light was represented in a rather novel format.
Andrew Butterworth decided to make a 3D replica of Light’s hologram capsule and have an actual “hologram” appear within. The “hologram” is nothing more than an After Effects animation projected against transparent glass, but the effect is nonetheless impressive.
Andrew claims that attendees will notice an Easter egg hidden in the animation loop that would be familiar to hardcoreMega Man Xplayers. My money is on Light’s Ryu costume!
