Starting in July, a new hero will be released every single month in Marvel Rivals. Because of this, the last new hero before the upcoming change, Ultron, may be the last one that gets as much focus as he has received.

Ultron released inMarvel Rivalsjust over two weeks ago on May 30, meaning players have had ample time to try out the new Strategist character. A flyer, burst-damage dealer, and powerful healer, he can do a little bit of it all.

Ultron Marvel Rivals

Marvel Rivalsgamers have been sharing their thoughts on their experiences with the murderbot, who’s seemingly an MVP machine with his big damage output and passive healing capabilities, but he isn’t the easiest character to play.

“He’s got a low skill floor but high skill ceiling,” one gamersaidin a recent Reddit discussion. “Learning how to rotate your drone to maximize healing can be tough, especially against burst-y comps (since you need to weigh moving it to maximize the number of targets in the area as well as moving it onto wounded allies to heal them faster). His primary also requires good tracking because of the additional burst of damage at the end of the beam, so you need to be able to keep it on the target for the entire duration of the ‘shot’ for maximum damage.”

I hated Ultron at first, but he definitely has a learning curve. Once mastered, he is quite deadly, but I also think he struggles as the second healer in a two-Strategist team composition, as all of his healing comes passively or in bursts.

His Ultimate feels decently balanced, but is strong when used defensively instead of offensively, which may be a hot take considering that it can do both at the same time. Because of all of these factors, there has been no shortage of opinions on how to use the hero and where he stands.
