And, lo, the first episode of Penny Arcade’s game, “On the Rain-slick Precipice of Darkness,” is upon us, and I saw that it was good.
Penny Arcade Adventureslooks like a cartoony film-noir/Sam and Maxmashup, complete with episodic content and phallic fruit-juicer. I just hope that there is a zoot suit and the phrase “swing heil” involved. I don’t know, maybe the darker elements of Tommy guns will provide a nice counter-point to the comic. Or maybe I’m reading a little to much into it.
Either way, the above trailer starts out in familiar 2d and then adds an extra d for gameplay footage. I know some of you will be furrowing your eyebrows in disapproval (as I did), but you’ll just have to get over it. I am really digging the Lemony Snickett-esque font at the end, though.
Oh yeah, the game is being developed byHothead Games, of which I know absolutely nothing.
