Recently, a trailer forDoom Infinitewas uploaded to YouTube. The footage, complete with a metal-ized version of E1M1, shows what you can expect in this mod by difficultoldstuff.

Featuring an “endless cycle of death and rebirth,” you’re asked with plunging into a “twisted spiral of never-ending death and bloodlust.” Not only does it have roguelike elements, it also implements new powerups, weapons mods, and possibly more.

More details aboutDoom Infinitecan be found over onModDB. It’s not fully out yet, but you can download the demo/early access version for now. The trailer alone really sells the insane action and violence, and the OG game is already pretty insane and violent. Just a note to say that it’s forGZDoomspecifically, so you’ll need to verify you have that installed.
After nearly 30 years, it’s hard to imagine thatDoomis still very much in the gaming limelight.Modsare constantly being made for both the first and second installments of the legendary series.

Basically, when it comes toDoom Infinite, if you like classic shooters mixed withBinding of Isaac-style roguelike elements, then this one should be right up your alley. And if it’s not, well, there’s three decades’ worth of custom mods to sift through.
