In most RPG games, it’s obvious when you gain a level. A giant burst of colors fills the screen, a guitar riff wails, and the words “Level up!” blast your screen.The Elder Scrolls Oblivion Remasteredis a little different than most games, though.
It looks like you have a typical experience bar, but it doesn’t just fill up for cutting down rats and wolves. You gain experience by increasing your Major Skills. Once you’ve gained enough points, you’ll get an emblem that shows you you’ve got a level waiting for you. It’s not immediate, however. You’ll need to find a place to sleep and reflect upon your day. Usually, the inn of a major city works. Anywhere you find a nice bed should do the trick, though.
Once you sleep, you’ll get your level up screen with a list of attributes to put points into. Luck can only go up by one, everything else you can slot up to five points in. You can also only select three attributes to put points into per level.
How to level fast in Oblivion
The question is: which skills can you level the fastest? It depends on what Major Skills you took at creation. If you took Athletics, RUN! Or swim, just keep moving in a difficult manner until you see those skills go up. A high Acrobatics skill means you need to just keep jumping. Blocking and magic casting can also go quickly, as they require you to… block and cast! The chart below highlights which skills you might want to focus on.
Keep in mind, however, that the world levels up with you. Rather than dumping everything into one skill, you’ll want to keep yourself fairly even amongst your favored skills. An athletic warrior won’t be doing much damage if you forget to boost your strength.
