One PieceChapter 1117 ended with Vegapunk about to reveal the truth behind the name D, but the transponder snail was conveniently destroyed before he could. Eiichiro Oda commonly does this and teases fans, but we should be thankful that we learned about the world sinking beforehand. Now that the message has officially concluded and all of the Straw Hats except Luffy have made it aboard the escape ship, there isn’t much left to resolve this arc. I predict that the next chapter will be the final one for Egg Head island and the Straw Hats will go to Elbaf Island next.
We already know that Vegapunk brought books from Ohara island to Elbaf. For a while, it looked like we would finally get the Shanks and Luffy reunion, but Shanks left Elbaf to potentially hunt down Blackbeard. Even so, Elbaf has been spoken about for years and it will be interesting to finally see what the island of giants has in store for the crew.
