So long, EA Sports

With EA Sports holding the licensing rights for the PGA Tour, it was impossible for other devs to include PGA endorsement in their games. This lack of attention to detail was a big damper on how authentic a golf game could get, though things seem to have shifted. Developer HB Studios announced the other day thatThe Golf Club 2019will feature a career mode based on the PGA Tour with official support from the organization.

Along with amore authentic golf experience, the PGA Tour endorsement will include real-world courses for the first time, hopefully bringing TPC Sawgrass, Pebble Beach and St. Andrews with it. The game will be sporting a more robust character creator and have additional tools for course creation (with the series standard cross-platform sharing).
