Tiny characters, tiny screen

Of all the indie games that I’ve treasured in recent years, few took as strong a hold on me asTerrariadid. While so many world exploration sandbox games can feel lonely (Creepers don’t make great company), the addition of functional non-player characters really made it feel alive for me.

Now, Re-Logic is bringing that life to mobile devices, promising a new release this summer. No details have been given as to which platforms it will appear on yet.

My concern is how it will look and control. The sprites inTerrariaare pretty small and there are a number of functions that I would expect to be an interesting challenge to implement on touch-based devices. I’m not saying it can’t be done or that I’m disinterested, but I am certainly wary.
