Sup Holmes every Sunday at 4pm EST!
[Sup Holmes is a weekly talk show for people that make great videogames. It airs live every Sunday at 4pm EST onYouTube, and can be found in Podcast form onLibsynandiTunes.]
Last Thursday, we were happy to produce a special weekday episode of Sup Holmes with the one and only John Vignocchi. After getting his start in the enthusiast gaming press as a teenager, John moved on to Midway where he worked on various titles, including theNBA Jamseries, before moving to Disney where he currently presides as the VP of Production forDisney Infinityseries.

We talked with John about his passion for his work, how th eart style of the Inifnity series manages to work for live action and animated characters. Johnny Depp’s approval process, our chances of seeing Studio Ghibli, Disney Afternoon, orMortal Kombatcharacters in future infinity releases, and a lot more. We also learned a little bit about the upcoming filmStar Wars Episode 7: The Force Awakens, which was a fun surprise. John has had the opportunity to read the script and meet with the films actors, as he’s been tasked to adapt the movie’s premise into the next iteration ofDisney Infinity. His face nearly exploded with joy in discussing the film, but he’s a pretty darn joyful guy at baseline, so take that for what it’s worth.
We were also lucky to haveDucktales: RemasteredandMighty Switch Force Academydirector Austin Ivansmith on the prior episode of the show. Austin’s also working on the highly anticipatedShantae: Half-Genie Hero, so we ended up splitting our time between focus on that game, the aftermath of developingDucktales, his solo work on games likeSuper Secret Service, and general discussion of the terrors and touchdowns that come with being a game developer in the year 2015. It was a lot of fun.

Thanks again to John and Austin for hanging out with us, and be sure to tune in live today at 4pm EST when we welcomeEd and Mike from Pencil Test Studios (Armikrog) to the program.
