RememberSonic Origins? Well its back…inPlusform! In a seemingly make-good effort (doesn’t seem like enough!), Sega is adding an expansion pack (that’s $9.99 as an expansion, or $39.99 as a standalone that includesSonic Origins) that has a few content additions that a lot ofSonicfans might enjoy. The big takeaway?Amy Rose is playableinSonic 1, 2, 3 + KnucklesandSonic CD. The plussed-upPluswill also add new modes, animations, music, and other aesthetic options.

“Sonic Origins Pluswill be available as an all-in-one bundle that includes theSonic Originsbase game and thePlus Expansion Pack, featuring 12SonicGame Gear titles, playable Knuckles inSonic CD, and for the first time ever: Amy Rose as a playable character inSonic the Hedgehog 1, 2, Sonic 3 & Knuckles, andSonic CD! This pack also includes previously released add-on content: Extreme Missions, Mirror Mode, new character animations, and additional backgrounds and music. The premium physical edition will also include a 20-page artbook and a reversible coversheet that pays homage to the classic 1990s era of Sonic.”
Yep, Game Gear games. There’s 12 in all, andTails Adventureis a clear standout when it comes to preservation and historical value: as I’d wager a large percentage of folks reading this article haven’t played it.
