While an exec leaving a company normally wouldn’t be a blip on most people’s radars, a major visible presence in an organization like Nintendo is likely to make some waves.

The publisher has announced that vice president of sales and marketing Scott Moffitt is leaving the company, having been there since May of 2011. He took over the role for Cammie Dunaway (which you may rememberon-stage at E3 so many moons ago), who in turn took up Reggie Fils-Aime’s role after he was promoted to president of Nintendo of America.

It’s an amicable separation, so nothing seems rotten in Denmark, and he will remain at Nintendo throughout July to “ensure a smooth transition.” That transition, mind, will involve other staff members absorbing his duties, and the elimination of the position Nintendo created in 2003.
