If sources have it right, then EA is to make Pandemic Studios no more after this afternoon.
According to aKotakureport, several unnamed sources have said that the studio responsible forMercenariesand the still-upcomingThe Saboteuris to close its doors in the near future. Furthermore, much of the studio’s 200 or so staff members will be laid off this morning via an in-house announcement expected at 11 AM PT. The remaining staff are supposedly to be reassigned to other EA-owned “development teams.”
Pandemic’s videogame IPs will reportedly transfer to EA Montreal.
We’ve checked in with a few people that may or may not have knowledge of this situation. We’ve yet to receive a response, but will update this when/if we receive a comment.
