There will be no encores
In what may or may not be a surprise depending on your perspective, the PC version ofRock Band 4isn’t going to happen. Thecrowdfunding campaign, held on the investment-based Fig platform, failed to meet its goal.
In total, the campaign only managed to pull in $792,817, just barely above 50% of its $1.5 million ask. There just wasn’t enough interest, or faith, in the project to give it wings. Bummer news for fans of plastic instruments everywhere.
Rock Bandwill always have a special place in my heart, but I can’t say this outcome is totally shocking. Given the unenthusiastic response toRock Band 4on console and the general genre fatigue for rhythm games, this campaign looked like a bit of a non-starter from the get-go.
