Mamoru-kunwas developed by G.Rev, the team behind last year’s high-definition re-release of Dreamcast shooterUnder Defeat. Similar to that title,Mamoru-kunhas no problem bucking genre trends, differentiating itself from its peers by eschewing eschewing genre mainstays such as flight and auto-scrolling in favor of ground combat and player-controlled movement.
Also likeUnder Defeat HD,Mamoru-kun‘s western localization looks to be exclusive to PlayStation 3. In addition to the teaser featuring art from the PS3 version, G.Rev president Hiroyuki Maruyama has gone on record stating Microsoft’s moon bucks makeXbox Live unprofitable for Japanese developers, as the confusing currency system doesn’t take inflation and exchange rates into consideration.
