As someone who didn’t buy the DLC because I didn’t quite finishPokémonScarletandViolet, the trailer tells me less than nothing. Which makes sense! It’s an epilogue, after all, so it would be easy to spoil things about the ending. Speaking of which, here are the requirements to access the new epilogue content:
-Complete a certain postgame event inPokémon Scarlet or Pokémon Violet.
-Complete the main stories ofThe Teal MaskandThe Indigo Disk.

The post suggests that the epilogue takes place in Kitakami and it’s a “new adventure,” but not much besides that.
As I said, I didn’t play any of the DLC. Timothy “Windchime” Monbleau didjust recentlyand sounded like he had the last vestiges of optimism forcibly sucked from his soul. I welcome him to the void. There is plenty of room. I really don’t know how else to describe his critique of the expansion. If you want to know what it looks like when the lights go out in a human heart, it’s a worthwhile read.
However, if you have different thoughts onThe Hidden Treasure of Area Zero, you might appreciate having the story tied up in a bow. Heck, maybe Mr. Monbleau will feel better about his agonizing experience with BBQs once it’s all wrapped up. Who can say?
What I do know is that the epilogue ofThe Hidden Treasure of Area Zerowill be released on June 16, 2025.Pokémon Scarlet and Violetare available on Switch. You’ll also need the DLC to access the epilogue.
