One of the problems with most narrative-focused games is that after you’ve played through them once, most of the surprises are over. The Yawhg, the next game fromDamian Sommer(Friendship in 4 Colors), looks to circumvent that issue. Teaming with illustrator Emily Carroll, Damian crafted a game that feels a lot like a classicD&Dexperience. You wont ever know exactly what you and your friends are up against, regardless of how many times you’ve played it.

The game is set for release on May 30th, though Damien and Emily are working to get advanced copies out to both the press and “YouTube people.” It’s great to see devs embrace the LP community like this. It’ll be interesting to see if a game that combines both social elements and classic RPG design can make it on the Youtube circuit, or any circuit for that matter.
