Where to begin Remembering the Past

Before you go searching for theFFXIV6.48 addition, you’ll need to finish the Main Scenario Quests up until The Ultimate Weapon. In other words, just finishA Realm Reborn’s2.0 story. Additionally, if you want to understand all of the new side story’s context, complete the Bahamut raid series.

When you’re ready, teleport toUl’dah and speak to Nananji (X:8.9, Y:9.1) to begin Remembering the Past. He’ll explain his journey chronicling the Archon’s storied past and The Calamity.

Is Remembering the Past a seasonal quest?

In Patch 6.48,The Rising seasonal questsalso added Remembering the Past nearby. However, the two don’t seem directly linked, and this quest was added as part of the 10th Anniversary celebration forA Realm Reborn. That being said, it doesn’t appear that Remembering the Past is only here for a limited time.

Ultimately, it’s not clear if the quest will go away in future patches, but it seems like a permanent addition to familiarize players with some of the events fromFinal Fantasy XIV 1.0. That’s the version of the game you no longer have access to, but the story ties into the world we know today.
