Get ready, take aim…

Square Enix Montréal has unleashed its latest mobile offering,Hitman: Sniper.

As the title implies, Agent 47’s latest adventure spans a series of scoped assassination missions.

I’ve been playing through a handful ofSniper‘s early levels today and have been enjoying it thus far. The experience feels like a slightly more minimalistic take onHitman Absolution‘s Sniper Challenge, and feels right at home on my smartphone. The touch controls (pinching to zoom, tapping to shoot, and even the multi-swipe reload animation) all work nicely — even with my fat fingers!

The main aim here is to make a run at the leaderboards, though. While each mission is over fairly quickly, the design encourages creative play. To perfect your murderous craft and get high scores you’ll likely need to get real familiar with your surroundings over repeated sessions.

Hitman: Sniperis now available via theiOS App StoreandGoogle Playfor $4.99 / £3.99 / €4.99. The studio’s previous effort (which is also quite nice)Hitman GOis currently on sale for $0.99.
