If you’ve been experiencing frequent crashing issues withHelldivers 2, you’ll be happy to know Arrowhead Game Studios is working on a hotfix to address them.
On April 6,Helldivers 2‘s community manager Twinbeard assured a hotifx for crashes is on its way, but not until after the weekend. As such, they recommended anyone struggling with the crashes to “let the game rest for a while” and it’ll “be here waiting even if you let democracy lie for a few days.”

At the time of writing, no exact date or time for the hotfix has been shared. In fact, there’s no mention of the hotfix on any ofHelldivers 2‘s social channels, with Twinbeard’s comment only posted to the game’s Discord channel. Said post was shared to theHelldivers 2subreddit, but some fans believe such updates shouldn’t be this easy to miss.
“They REALLY gotta post these where they’ll get more attention instead of a single comment on the Discord,” saidReddit user Flashfall. Their comment has since received over 850 upvotes, so clearly a lot of fellow fans agree. Another user,RogueKitsune, added how these sorts of updates are “not even posted in any of the announcement channels on there, just general chat, where they get buried in minutes.”

As for Twinbeard’s advice about taking a break from the game, regularHelldivers 2players felt they couldn’t afford to considering this came during an importantMajor Orderagainst the Automatons. “I wouldn’t mind letting the game rest for a bit if there wasn’t a MO going on right now that could potentially kill off an entire faction for at least some time,” admittedXarar97. One user, devilindrivinggloves, argued that Major Orders should be paused if players are being told to step away from the game due to crashes.
TheHelldivers 2communityhas succeeded in eradicating the Automatons, but now they’ve had to turn their attention towards the Terminids. The nature ofHelldivers 2does make it difficult for players to take lengthy breaks from it since not participating in missions means you’re not contributing to the liberation of planets. If not enough people are able to participate, it can mean losing some planets to enemy factions. This makes it especially frustrating when you can’t take part because the game keeps crashing on you. With any luck, the hotfix will drop sooner or later, and affected players can dive back in.
