Win cash, play demos, egg Mr. Andy Dixon’s house!
Just in time for Halloween, we’ve got several devilish announcements that may be of interest to you, our ghoulish Destructoid readers.
First up is a monstrous ten-gigabyte demo that just went up onSteamfor Tango Gamework’sThe Evil Within. The demo grants access to the first three levels of the game—so if you were on the fence about the title and you have the available hard drive space to spare, this is a pretty good opportunity to check it out for yourself, free of charge. Your save progress in the demo will be transferred over should you decide to purchase the full game.

Additionally, if a demo isn’t enough to sway you into purchasing Mikami’s latest, Bethesda is also willing to throw in a copy ofCall of Cthulhu: Dark Corners of the EarthwithThe Evil Withinand is also temporarily slashing the price of its Season Pass by 50%.
Another spine-tingling demo worth picking up this Halloween weekend is the one for indie studio Secret Base’sDevil’s Dare. While thedemowill only let you play through the first level, all characters will be unlocked so you’ll have a chance to sample the playstyle of each.

Also of note to enthusiasts of the occult, Secret Base has announced theHigh Score Challenge— a satanic leaderboard contest where owners of theDevil’s Dareare invited to compete for a chance to win $666. The prize money will be split four ways to those at the very top of each of the game’s four leaderboards. For more information about the specifics of the contest, please check out the link posted above.
By the way, I was kidding about egging Mr. Andy Dixon’s house. However, if youdodecide to egg acertainsomeone’s house, you didn’t get the idea from me.
