I’m always forgetting anniversaries
Google did a low key celebration for the30th anniversary ofSuper Mario Bros. So low key that the 30th anniversary was yesterday and many of us idiots who’d normally be writing posts about it were busy watching football and packing for international travel and eating pizza, thoughKotakudid notice before September 13 ended here on the west coast (best coast).
But it’s still working now (as of time of writing), wholly unimportant September 14. Literally nothing of historical significance has ever happened on a September 14. Nor anything at all, actually. Not even a skinned knee, a promotion, a fiver found on the street. September 14 is a nothing day whose existence we only defend by virtues of the days preceding and following it. No matter how hard you try you will do nothing distinguishable in any way today. Not even stubborn human will can defy quantum mechanics.

Anyways, if you Google search “Super Mario Bros,” the little info box that pops up on the right has a question mark block and clicking it gives you a coin and a familiar sound.
Nintendo itself celebrated early (rude) with the below video on its30th anniversary page.
