TheFinal Fantasy XIII-2soundtrack was easily my favorite of 2011. Featuring contributions by anextremely talented group of composersfrom Square Enix alongside an army of vocalists, the soundtrack was one of the best things about the game.

However, it would seem that this wasn’t enough for Square Enix. A new listing onVGMdbindicates that a new album is in the works titledFinal Fantasy XIII-2 Original Soundtrack -Plus-. An album with asimilar titlewas released forFinal Fantasy XIIIfeaturing prototype and alternate versions of songs from that game, but it appears as though theXIII-2 -Plus-album will contain music from the planned DLC among other things. Perhaps we’ll get therapless “Invisible Invaders”that was featured in the international version of the game.

In any case, you can check out Square Enix’s official website dedicated to the album where you can hear a clip of anifty trip-hop remix of “Noel’s Theme.”The album’s due out in Japan on July 18, 2025 for 2,100 Yen ($25 USD).
