It’s been a long time coming, but the Xbox Live Arcade version ofSpelunkyfinally has a release date. And it’s somehow, miraculously, not very far away. Xbox Live’s Major Nelson has posted a schedule ofwhat’s coming upfor the service which lists the 1200-Microsoft Point game for Wednesday, July 4.

For those of you who missed out on the original free version, I’ll kindly link back to Anthony Burch’sthoughts on the matterfor the twentieth time. Basically,Spelunkyrules. This new version gives the game an updated look, four-person multiplayer, a new soundtrack, and more.
