Overwatch 2has a robust ranked system divided into several tiers, much like other multiplayer games. Here’s how the entire system works.
Overwatch 2Season 12is here, bringing in the mid-year Rank reset, which means you have to start from scratch and complete the placement matches to unlock the ranks for every role.

All ranks in Overwatch 2
Ranks in Overwatch 2 start from Bronze and go all the way up to Top 500. Each skill tier is divided into 5 divisions, with 5 being the lowest and 1 being the highest.
Here’s a complete breakdown of every rank:
Champion, added in Season 9, is the last conventional rank among all, while Top 500 simply denotes the best players from a particular region. It may include players who are either Champions, Grandmasters, or even Masters in very rare cases.
How does ranked work in OW2?
Currently, in Season 12, the ranks have been reset which means you have to complete 10 placement matches for all roles to unlock the ranks.
Completing each ranked match affects the Rank Promotion percentage. If you win, the percentage will go up and if you lose, it will go down. Certain rank modifiers also come into play if you go on a winning or losing streak, which further affects your rank progression. Draws, however, ensure your rank progression remains unchanged.

The more you win matches and climb up the ranks, you unlock Competitive Points (CP) which you can use to purchase Golden or Jade weapon skins.
You have to spend Legacy CP to get Golden weapon skins. This happens automatically at the end of a rank year, where regular CP converts into Legacy CP. To earn Jade weapon skins, however, you must spend regular CP.

Lastly, if you manage to complete250, 750, and 1,750 competitive matches in total,you also get these special titles —Adept Competitor, Seasoned Competitor,andExpert Competitor.
