If you’ve reached Living Memory inFinal Fantasy XIV: Dawntrail, you will have quickly realized that this is 7.0’s version of Azys Lla. Multiple disconnected land masses accessible via interactive points on the map – sound familiar?

It’s safe to say that if there’s one map where flying is essential, it’s Living Memory. Before you can take off on your mount of choice, you’ll need to collect 15 Aether Currents – 10 in the field, four through side quests and one through the MSQ.

Field Aether Currents in Living Memory

These might take you a while to gather up, due to the nature of Living Memory and how disconnected everything is. To make this easier, I’ll split these into groups depending on which area of Living Memory you can find them:

Canal Town (South west island)

All Aether Currents in Living Memory in Final Fantasy XIV

Yesterland (South east island)

Windspath Gardens (North west island)

Asyle Volcane (North east island)

Side quests

There are side quests to complete in Living Memory which become available after certain MSQ quests.

MSQ quest

The final Aether Current you’ll need to unlock in Living Memory will be rewarded after completing the level 100 MSQ quest ‘A Journey Never-ending’. This is the penultimate quest of theDawntrailMSQ, so you’ll be facing some big moments once this Aether Current is unlocked.
