Possibly through Limited Run Games Those eagerly anticipatingthe upcoming remakeof Sega Saturn classicPanzer Dragoonmight be pleased to hear that there is a physical edition of the fantasy shooter in the works. The news was tweeted out by the remake’s publisher, Forever Entertainment, then retweeted by Limited Run Games, which may suggest the latter’s involvement in said physical edition. Panzer Dragoon: Remake,which was first announced back in December 2018, will recapture the rail-shooter action of the classic Sega Saturn release, offering lush new visuals and sound while retaining the view-switching, lock-on shooting action of the original game....

New features forSecond Lifeinclude vastly improved graphics and lighting, quicker texture loading, a reworked user interface, better in-client communication tools, Facebook sharing, improved shopping, and Oculus Rift support....

Despite the fact thatResident Evil: Raccoon Citywas a success in Capcom’s eyes, it seems that developer Slant Six can’t catch a break. The developerrecently informed GameSpotthat more than a quarter of their workforce has been hit with layoffs. The terms give employees one of two options: they can either take a severance package and part ways, or collect employment insurance and benefits for 13 weeks while the developer “looks for more projects....

Based on the PSP remake of the PS1 original, this version will include a few enhancements, including a new opening theme, improved visuals and sound, and downloadable content. Hm, that last one isn’t much of an enhancement, but it is definitely new and unique to this iteration....

Consumer Softproducts’ follow-up to 2021’s shared fever dream,Cruelty Squad, is now listed on Steam.Psycho Patrol Risnow available for wishlisting, though there is no announced release window. I had noticed Consumer Softproducts tinkering around with a mech game since the release ofCruelty Squad, but with such things, sometimes an end result is never seen. However, it’s looking more likely with the official name and fancy store page. Psycho Patrol Rhas you play as a federal police officer of the eponymous Psycho Patrol....

Rayforceis now outon the App storefor iPhone and iPod users. It’s the classic shoot ’em up you remember, but there are some new features like the obvious touch controls. Additionally, you can view the game in the original arcade aspect ration setting or play in the newly added full-screen zoomed mode. Plus there’s the option between manual and automatic firing controls now. The only downside is thatRayforceis going for $11.99. It’s weird, that price would be normal if it was on XBLA or PSN....

Today, Take Two Interactive announced their acquisition of Illusion Softworks, creators ofMafia,Hidden & Dangerous, andVietcong. Illusion will join 2K Games development studio under the name 2K Czech. Currently, Illusion Softworks is developingMafia IIwith 2K Games. Ben Feder, CEO of 2K was quoted as saying, “The acquisition of Illusion Softworks reflects our strategic focus on owning high-value intellectual property as we continue to expand our portfolio of triple-A titles.” Take Two’srapid expansion(having recently formed 2K Marin) spells good things for fans of their previous releases (and really, who doesn’t love at least one thing they’ve done)....
