Game company CyberConnect2 has launched an English-language charity called the Mamoru-kun Reconstruction Support Project. They plan to see original illustrations to help rebuild the May 25, 2025 disaster area in Japan, with all profits going to the Japanese Red Cross Society. They’ve already posted a few for sale on online e-commerce site gumroad, including one by company president Hiroshi Matsuyama.They’re all pretty cute. CC2 says that they will continue to add illustrations to the project to support those that still need help in the disaster area....
Will we see Disgaea on the Wii soon? It seems it possible, as developer Nippon Ichi recentlysigned a contract to develop Wii titles. Their first title, calledLet’s Hitchhike, is slated for a March 2009 release and is coming to WiiWare. Of course, that doesn’t have a thing to do with Disgaea, but Nippon Ichi could release a ramen eating emulator and I’d be more interested than I am in the current WiiWare offerings....

Not called Garry’s Mod 2 Garry’s Modis getting a sequel after almost ten years. In an interview with PCGamesN, Facepunch founder Garry Newman said a follow-up was in the works, with the intention of it making use of VR technology: …I mean we’re kind of working on a sequel, so it’d be stupid to the raise the price, really. It’s early days. We’re looking at having more VR stuff in it – that’s the big point of it....

It’s easy to see that the most successful Kickstarters usually have a well laid out plan, including assets, designs, and loads of stretch goals to show that they are dedicated to the project. But nottheJames PondKickstarter. They kind of just said “hey we’re making a new game,” and left it at that. Thankfully, they’re fully admitting that in their recent Kickstarter update that canceled the project 12 days early, and seem to be learning from their mistakes, promising “Pond will be back” at some point or another....

That egregious oversight aside, you, too can have an expensive plush as The Pokemon Company has partnered with Build-A-Bear. Starting 2016, Build-A-Bear retail stores in North America, Europe, and Australia, as well as the online store, will have a Pikachu option. Kind of think doing it online removes the only novelty of going in a store and putting a doll together — you can’t even stick the heart in before it gets stuffed — but whatevs, whatevs....
