CNN launches game; sadly, it’s not Wolf Blitzer’s Magical Moustache Ride

CNN, Ted Turner’s foray into the acrimonious world of televised dog-wagging,launchedits first foray into gaming recently with the release ofPresidential Pong, a Flash title destined to beexactlyas entertaining as the originalPong; that is, not at all. While this newly politicized update of the classic adds special abilities for the characters (drawn from the ranks of the Republican and Democratic presidential hopefuls) based on tongue-in-cheek depictions of their campaign strengths, it also loses the innocence that made the originalPongso insanely addictive, and, as the years went on, an electronic counterpart to the heartwarming traditionalism of a Thomas Kinkade painting....

Disgaea series developer Nippon Ichi signs contract to develop for Wii

Will we see Disgaea on the Wii soon? It seems it possible, as developer Nippon Ichi recentlysigned a contract to develop Wii titles. Their first title, calledLet’s Hitchhike, is slated for a March 2009 release and is coming to WiiWare. Of course, that doesn’t have a thing to do with Disgaea, but Nippon Ichi could release a ramen eating emulator and I’d be more interested than I am in the current WiiWare offerings....

Want to see your own blog appear on our front page?Go write something!–Mr Andy Dixon] In the light of the recent pricing of the PS4 in Brazil, many gaming news sites have been writing about how expensive the overall package is. Garry’s Mod is getting a virtual reality-focused sequel

Not called Garry’s Mod 2 Garry’s Modis getting a sequel after almost ten years. In an interview with PCGamesN, Facepunch founder Garry Newman said a follow-up was in the works, with the intention of it making use of VR technology: …I mean we’re kind of working on a sequel, so it’d be stupid to the raise the price, really. I’m officially getting excited for Bungie’s Destiny

Seeing first live gameplay, trying to not call it Halo Destiny We sawDestinyrunning, live, on multiple PlayStation 4’s, and I’m suddenly a bit more into the whole ordeal. We began on a run down Earth in the same spot last night’s Sony press conference featured. In the more intimate, closed-doors setting we got to take a bit more time to stop and smell the roses, which turned out to be just what I needed....

James Pond Kickstarter canceled

It’s easy to see that the most successful Kickstarters usually have a well laid out plan, including assets, designs, and loads of stretch goals to show that they are dedicated to the project. But nottheJames PondKickstarter. They kind of just said “hey we’re making a new game,” and left it at that. Thankfully, they’re fully admitting that in their recent Kickstarter update that canceled the project 12 days early, and seem to be learning from their mistakes, promising “Pond will be back” at some point or another....

Make a custom Pikachu plush at Build-a-Bear

No luchador Pikachu no buy Uh, it’s called the Build-A-Bear Workshop, not the Build-a-Fictional-Electric-Mouse Workshop. That egregious oversight aside, you, too can have an expensive plush as The Pokemon Company has partnered with Build-A-Bear. Starting 2016, Build-A-Bear retail stores in North America, Europe, and Australia, as well as the online store, will have a Pikachu option. Kind of think doing it online removes the only novelty of going in a store and putting a doll together — you can’t even stick the heart in before it gets stuffed — but whatevs, whatevs....
