One of my favorites from this year has beenQuiet, Please!, a charming adventure game where a girl just seeks a peaceful environment. The whole game takes only a few minutes to play and I’ve done it dozens of times. Beyond my ability to empathize with the character, the act of setting her house in order kind of helps meput my house in order, so to speak....

This is all on top of the expected story missions, for which this expansion is set to continue the main plot. Oddly enough, there isn’t a season pass forRage 2, so you’ll have to buy theRise of the Ghostsexpansion separately....

Viva Chiba! According to the Hollywood insiders over atVariety, Sega is getting set to begin production on a live-action movie adaptation of its skull-cracking RPG series,Yakuza. The new movie is a joint production of Sega, 1212 Entertainment, and Wild Sheep Content, and is currently in the process of securing script writers, so this news comes extremely early into the feature film’s production. “Yakuzaoffers us a new playground in which to set compelling stories with complex characters in a unique environment that audiences have rarely seen before,”1212 Entertainment told Variety....

Sony Interactive Entertainment has announced today that the corporation will cut around 8% of its workforce, or more than 900 jobs. Also, in the announcement, they stated that PlayStation Studios London will be closing. There are two separate statements, one fromPresident and CEO Jim Ryanand the other fromHead of PlayStation Studios Herman Hulst. Both are full of standard executive-speak, but they provide slightly different insights. For example, Hulst’s statement clarifies that US groups affected will include, “Insomniac Games, Naughty Dog, as well as our Technology, Creative, and Support teams,” as well as Europe’s “Guerrilla and Firesprite....
