Unfortunately, a Tekken ‘classics collection’ may not be on the horizon

As advanced as video gaming is getting these days, there is something to be said about a trip down Nostalgia Avenue. Remasters from studios like Nightdive, as well as the return of classic games in collectible sets and downloads, keep us retro fans happy. However, if you’re big intoTekkenand would love to play the old games on modern systems, that might not be happening. In a recent interview withThe Gamer, producer and director Katsuhiro Harada – who’s been with the series pretty much since day one – kind of suggests we won’t get aTekken“classics collection” any time soon....

A new change in Marvel Rivals season 3 might actually force players to try different roles occasionally, but it’s still not enough

Marvel Rivals’newest season, featuring Phoenix, Blade, and a new Klyntar map, is now live, but there’s been an interesting update to missions as well. In season three, daily missions have been scrapped in the hero shooter, replaced instead by weekly missions that have some bigger rewards. Players can complete six missions each week for different increments in Chrono Tokens, totaling to 1,080 of the battle pass-unlocking currency to gain. But the bigger change here, in my eyes, is the addition of new missions that encourage players to try specific roles....

Adventuring as an Aloy main in Genshin Impact offers a good lesson in ignoring meta

Aloy is one of my favorite characters in all media. She’s a certified badass in theHorizonseries, with crossover appearances in various other games. One of these crossovers isGenshin Impact, where Aloy is considered one of theworst playable charactersin the roster. So, what happens when you decide to main an objectively bad character in a character-based RPG likeGenshin? I’ve definitely gone through some Aloy-induced stages of grief thanks to my decision. Lots of negotiating that choice, too, but as they say, where there’s a will, there’s a way, right?...

Ain’t neva gonna do it without the Fez on…XBLA

I’ve waited a year and some change for the day that I could make aSteely Dan referenceon Destructoid — today, my friends, is that day. Oh, and in other news, the indie wonderFezhas finally been rated by the ESRB, so we can expect to awesomely shift planes like we were back in theSuper FX eraat some point in the near future. Since the game is rated, instead of “sometime nebulously in 2012,” we most likely have an “Early 2012” target....

Binding of Isaac piano arrangement is sweet sorrow

Might give you a case of the feels WhenThe Binding of Isaac: Rebirthwas announced, I was puzzled by some of the folks were annoyed with thenew graphics, deeming them “pointless.” They seemed to think that because they liked the original game’s visuals that there was no reason to ever do anything new with themever. That’s a difficult perspective for me to relate with. It’s one thing to say you don’t like the new graphics because they don’t appeal to you, but to say that they shouldn’t exist just because they are different feels goofy....
