Champion game designer Will Wright has claimed that those in the console business are “running scared” of emerging business models, especiallyfree-to-play games. Thank goodness for Game Pass Slowly but surely, Rare’s old games and characters are getting more nods inSea of Thieves. It appears as though even more bad news is flowing from Sony land. Over at C|Net Japan, they’ve got 196 previous gen games not working on the PS3, with problems ranging from no sound to the games being unplayable....

Sonic The Hedgehog 3, starring Jim Carrey as Dr. Eggman, Jim Carrey as the other Dr. Eggman, and featuring Keanu Reeves as Shadow comes out in only a few days, but its release is being threatened by a bunch of massive spoilers that are now infesting the Internet. To mitigate the damages, Paramount Pictures is responding by asking fans to not spoil the movie, as that would disappoint Shadow. I’m not sure if this the character to go with for such a campaign, as Shadow seems to exist in a perpetual state of disappointment, but this worked well with the “Don’t spoilEndgame”campaign by Marvel a few years ago, and theSonicmovie series has earned a lot of favor among fans, so let’s see how it plays out....

‘You’ve been chosen’ BioWare sent emails to fans overnight that include a “Nightmare” teaser trailer for what appears to be a new intellectual property. The video is live action, so it’s hard to say what this will be other than “Hey, the guy with the head made of smoke was kinda cool.” There’s also awebsitewhich hints at a gamescom reveal: “The time is near. They are watching. Your power is rising....
